Hi!
I am newly diagnosed and am trying to find the best care of this condition. Alot of therapists and doctors say , "Oh yes, we can treat that." I guess I am leery because ADHD can be so ellusive. Not until I found these sites did I find people who really "got" it. I could see myself in so many stories...a great source of relief.
Anyways, I started therapy with a very good therapist, but I question if she is understanding ADHD and living with it as an adult. I ask because at the end of our session, she said, "Remember, eat right, exercise and take care of yourself." I know that is great advice, but doing all that doen't happen overnight and overwhelms me. I need to deal with "smaller" issues to get to those BIG issues.....Like, getting out of the house on time with the kids in a calm manner without being overwhelmed and dealing with the overwhelm. What do you think?
