Hi!
I am newly diagnosed and am trying to find the best care of this condition. Alot of therapists and doctors say , "Oh yes, we can treat that." I guess I am leery because ADHD can be so ellusive. Not until I found these sites did I find people who really "got" it. I could see myself in so many stories...a great source of relief.
Anyways, I started therapy with a very good therapist, but I question if she is understanding ADHD and living with it as an adult. I ask because at the

I was given the assesment test my a Pshycologist to take home and fill out along with a person that knew me very well back in October 2009. Well, I answered the questions and I was suppose to give the other test to my BFF but I never got around to dropping it off to her. I either cancelled, or didn't have time to go see her or just plain forgot. I ended up giving it to my sister, who doesn't really now me that well, to assess me. Finally, in late November I took it to the Dr and he took several…

I have recently discovered that my tendency to organize when I feel overwhelmed from my world is me applying my OCD tendencies to cope with my drive toward distraction! So for all the moms out there coping with a stressor like an overly messy house which occurred because you couldn't keep track of your house let alone the thoughts in your head, do not distress!
I have to create a schedule for specific days of the week when things happen, and yes I have to be neurotic about h

Hi!
I was diagnosed in October of 09 and have been treated with meds up until a couple of weeks ago. When I was on meds, I was the mom I ALWAYS knew I could be. I was able to stop and think and then react. I even finished things around the house and started to create some structure for our family....it was FANTASTIC.
Unfortunately, I had med problems and have to start from scratch. I haven't been on stims for weeks and changed antidepressents. This is leaving me more irritable that ever. My stop…

I can’t say that I am…

I have a mind that causes server uncertainty, aggression, depression and failure. I tend to sleep a a lot. I'm driving my boyfriend off the wall. I'm too needy. I can't focus. I can't think straight & I can't communicate properly. I don't succeed as well as others. I blame myself for not getting things as easy as everyone else. I cut myself short. I feel stupid. I got prescribed Ritalin.

This is part of my new years resolution. Getting as much help as I can and controling my ADHD. Most mornings start with me making myself get out of bed and getting my son ready for school. Then feeding the younger kids breakfast and heading myself back to my bed till I have to get out of it again to get the child that has preschool that day to school. Feeding a child lunch moving laundry then getting back in my bed until I have to get that child from school. Then I either sit around in the kitch…
