Hope your day went well.
- Bipolar... yep. I was told that a few years ago, when I went to see a Doctor about possible ADHD. I was so sure I was only ADHD that I refused to accept anything esle as a possiblity, not even considering that it may be both.
I medicated with food for years unknowingly. Especially when my thoughts would be racing out of control. Eating would calm me down. It was equivalent to taking a deep breath. I would cram down a bunch of food, and then be "ready" for what ever I had to face, but that calming effect would always be short lived. Coffee also has the same effect on me, makes me feel level headed, but only for a short time.
Hope you were able to tackle the pile on the desk. My desk could use some work too.
I have to give you the fast version of my appt since I am also doing more than 1 thing at a time. Staying on Strattera, I was on 80mg and My new Dr thinks that was too low, so I'll be cycling up to 120. I'm ok with that as long as it works. Then in a month I'll be going back on something for my bipolar episodes. I don't care what I have to take at this point. I just want to feel "normal" what ever that is...
Since not taking my strattera for almost three weeks I have put on almost 10 pounds!!!! CRAZY!!! That alone makes me depressed. ...gotta finish cooking dinner. Talk later. Hey... how was your day?
I'll let you know how it goes. It's not till later today. My son used to take concerta, we tried welbutrin too, but the one for him was Metadate. He's been refusing meds for a yr now. I just became exhausted with the battle... Plus I'd forget to check on him to make sure he was taking them daily.
Thanks for responding. I really don't have anyone else to talk with about this, and I think I drive my husband crazy having to listen to it all the time. Especially in the height of my fustration!
Do you ever have hard time with paper work? I just missed out on a settlement. It wasn't for much, but the paperwork was and I kept putting it off, then found out it was too late.
I self diagnosed a few yrs ago while dealing with my son who is ADHD inattentive. I finally decided to see some one about 3 yrs ago where they misdiagnosed me bipolar. Long story short. Got a new Dr and still waited two years before bring it up with my Dr. I didn't want to bring it up during the holidays, because I didn't want them to confuse my symptoms with the busyness of the season that along with having 6 children already makes people think I'm already busy. Why can't people understand that it's not the kids that are keeping me busy? It's the rapid thoughts and constantly coming up 101 ways to do a simple task... So this year I started taking strattera, and it hasn't been helping. The prescribing doctor isn't fond of stimulant meds for adults. Nevermind that it's under physicians care....so I'm seeing a new dr tomorrow and haven't been taking my strattera for about three weeks... It's been a bit rough ..... I'm rattling on and on... Sorry
