I once envied the people who have their kids in perfect order.  You know who i am talking about, the people whose kids are listening, clothes look neat, hair in order and never forgetting little things like extra tissues. Their kids are playing sports like soccer with ease, and probably willing practice with them.  Here I am, and i can barly keep track of my 3 kids, let alone get them to listen.  I just cleaned my son's face and it's already dirty again.  I open my van and  blankets fall out, i get embarrassed.  Wait a minute, who cares, their idea of perfect isn't mine!

Then i notice the kids and parents have little personality.  Being perfect seems boring.  I bet that kid who comes right away when their mom calls can't tell the "waiter theres a fly in my soup" joke like my son.  I also bet my kids can tell you more about various presidents than the perfect families' kids can.  I bet they've never had a family drum circle like ours.  My kid isn't the kid scoring goals on the soccer field, he's the one who is making the refs laugh, ok it maybe distracting and frustrating, but at least he's not being way competitve like "perfect kid" is.

We should all strive for our own perfect, not anyone elses'.
