Have a recipe that is ADD "friendly" you'd like to share? Something easy to make and one your picky eaters enjoy? Share them and other cooking/entertaining tips here!
This is not a recipe. I actually don't mind the cooking/recipe...it's the cleaning up that doesn't get done. That being said, I have waited "too long" to start cooking and then we eat dinner at 9pm.
I did want to share something that has helped me get going on time in the morning. In fact, it's saved me many a time (now if I could just be consistent enough to do it each week...)
I make my kids sandwiches during the weekend and freeze them. I have learned that both meat and cheese and pb & j thaw perfectly in their lunchboxes and are ready for lunch. I also do this for my hubby, and it has saved us some $$ with him not having the "I didn't have time to make lunch so I had to go to McDonald's" excuse. For PB&J, put the peanut butter on both sides of the bread so the jelly doesn't saturate the bread. Put the jelly in the middle and your done. I also cut the crusts off the bread to eliminate whining about that. For ham/turkey and cheese, the only difference is I put the mustard/mayo in between the cheese and meat so it doesn't saturate the bread. I make a whole "loaf" of sandwiches (usually 11-12), and throw them in ziplock bags. Next morning, they can pick their own and put it in their lunchboxes.
Hope this helps some of y'all who might run late every morning like I do!
